Green eyes are incredibly rare. In fact, only two percent of people in the world have green eyes. If you're one of these individuals, you may wonder what color palette you should use on your eyes, especially when you may not see many individuals in magazines with your eye color. At All Dolled Up, serving Ocean Isle Beach, Wilmington, and various other cities throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, we have some tips for colors to use if you have green eyes.
Keep in mind that your makeup artist will help you make a final decision, whether you're getting commercial makeup, prom makeup, wedding makeup, or makeup for any other special event.
Purple
Even if you wouldn't match purple pants with a green shirt, these two colors are on opposite sides of the color wheel, meaning they complement each other. This color won't overpower your eyes and will bring out the varying shades of green in your eyes, making them pop. Consider a violet or aubergine, but any shade of purple will work.
Try a cream eyeliner that spreads and covers well. Maybe use a metallic to really make your eyes shine and sparkle.
Green
Green is a tricky color with green eyes. You don't want a color that will wash out your eyes. Therefore, you should aim for a hue that's brighter or darker than your eyes. For instance, you could use dark green if you have light green eyes. Even a medium shade of green could accent light or dark eyes.
Burgundy
Old English homes may have gotten it right with burgundy and green going together in perfect harmony. This color combination will essentially bring out any shades of brown or other hints of color besides green in your eyes.
Gold, Silver, or Bronze
These metallic colors tend to bring out the natural sparkles of your green eyes. These colors won't overpower the beauty of your eyes. With these, you'll want to choose a darker eyeliner. These colors are preferred for daytime looks, though. However, you could use them for a nighttime look by darkening your eyeliner and adding shading to give your eyes a more dramatic look.
Gray
Use gray to create a smokey eye, which is a sultry look for any green-eyed woman. Typically, when we do a gray, we use a dark liner to enhance your eyes. Fortunately, gray is a versatile color, so you'll be able to easily match it with almost any look you're going for when you're going to a special event.
Brown
You can enrich any specks of brown in your green eyes with brown eyeshadow. This shade gives your eyes a warm appearance since brown and green go together without one overshadowing the other. You could use green on your eyelids and highlight them with brown above your lids.
How to Choose Colors
Even if you experiment and find one shade that works ideally for you, you'll want to discuss your options with a makeup artist. Not every color is suitable for every event. Additionally, you want to capture a look that's different from your everyday makeup.
Your makeup artist will want to know what you need your makeup done for, such as commercial makeup or prom makeup. Moreover, your cosmetic specialist will inquire about the time of your event since daytime and nighttime looks are drastically different. Moreover, you'll need to tell your beauty expert about your outfit.
Green eyes are magnificent. They're uncommon and match with various colors of makeup. Fortunately, when you have an All Dolled Up makeup artist on your team, your artist understands the colors that work and how they change your look. Therefore, your makeup will use this information to showcase your eyes while creating a look suitable for your major event.
