Whenever you utilize All Dolled Up’s, serving Wilmington, NC, and the neighboring regions, makeup services and don’t have a color palette in mind, a makeup artist from our on site beauty team will suggest colors that work well with both your skin tone and eye color. If you have brown eyes, you benefit from an eye color that works wells with a variety of colors, including, but not limited to, the following:

Dark Blue

With light blue, the color gets washed away by the vibrancy of your deep eye color. On the other hand, when you opt for a dark blue, both the dark color of your eyes and eyeshadow can stand out. In fact, the deep blue will make your brown eyes stand out. If you’re not into one solid shade of eyeshadow and prefer shading, consider opting to have us shade light and dark blues or use dark blue to enhance another hue.

Browns

Colors in the brown family definitely accent brown eyes well. You should choose colors that aren’t the same as your eye color, though, especially if you have dark brown eyes. Colors that are dark brown like your eyes may make your eyes appear more of a black shade. When you choose colors that are the same as a lighter shade of brown, they tend to fade into the background and not accent or complement your eye color as they should.

Instead, select a brown that’s darker or lighter than your light brown eyes, and a shade that’s lighter than your dark brown eyes.

Rather than select one solid shade of brown, consider using this color to contour your eyes and create a smoky effect.

Purple

Purple is one color that works well for almost any eye color, as long as you choose carefully or use the lighter purples to complement darker shades of purple or various other colors that work with purple.

Fortunately, with this color, there are many shades that work well with brown eyes. For instance, you could opt for a deep plum accented with a light tan, or a vibrant violet highlight with pink and tan.

Black

Black is a color we rarely recommend to stand alone. It complements and accents other colors well. Why we don’t recommend it by itself for those with brown eyes is because it’ll cause your dark brown eyes to take on more of a black color. With lighter brown eyes, it tends to overtake your eye color. Instead, we use black to create a smoky eye or accent other colors.

Greens

Green is a color especially beneficial for people who have brown eyes with hints of green, more commonly referred to as hazel. The green brings out any green in your eyes.

Conversely, even if your eyes are a deep brown, green can work for you. The green helps the brown in your eyes to pop.

Creating a color palette for your makeup for a special occasion means you need to consider your eye color. The wrong hue may overtake your eyes or easily get forgotten about if your eyes are the center of the show. Essentially, this means you need to choose a color or color scheme that accents or complements your eye color, and an All Dolled Up makeup artist knows just the colors that are suited for your eye color. Plus, with our on site beauty team, you never have to leave your location to look fabulous.
